Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions from venue owners, advertisers, and screen operators. If your question isn't answered here, contact us directly.
For Venue Owners
What hardware do I need to use YAXI TV?
YAXI TV runs on Amazon Fire TV Stick (any generation), Android TV boxes, and smart TVs with built-in Android TV or Google TV. No proprietary hardware is required. You need a screen with an HDMI port and a stable internet connection of at least 5 Mbps. Most venues use hardware they already own or can buy at retail for under $60.
Is there a cost to sign up as a venue?
Basic sign-up is free. There is no monthly software fee for the standard venue tier. We offer a managed partnership model for operators with larger networks — contact us to discuss which arrangement fits your situation and scale.
How long does it take to get my first screen running?
After creating an account and installing the YAXI TV app on your device, the pairing and initial setup process takes approximately 10–15 minutes. Content can start playing almost immediately. Monetization approval (to begin receiving paid ad revenue) is a separate step that typically takes 3–7 business days after account setup.
What kinds of ads will appear on my screens?
Ads are sourced from programmatic demand partners including Vistar Media and Google Ad Manager, as well as any direct campaigns booked through YAXI TV. You can block specific ad categories (alcohol, gambling, political, etc.) directly in your dashboard. All ad creatives are reviewed against our content standards before being eligible for delivery on the network.
How does venue revenue work and when do I get paid?
Approved venue partners earn a percentage of the CPM (cost per thousand impressions) revenue generated by verified ad impressions on their screens. Payouts are processed on a monthly schedule based on proof-of-play logs from the prior period. How much you earn depends on your venue's foot traffic, your market, your venue category, and the fill rate at any given time. We do not publish guaranteed earnings estimates because actual results depend on these variables. Specific revenue share terms are set during the onboarding process.
Can I control what content and ads appear on my screens?
Yes. You upload your own content (images, videos, YouTube links, web pages, Google Slides) and build playlists using the CMS dashboard. You control the schedule and the mix of your content versus entertainment versus ad breaks. You can also block ad categories you don't want displayed at your venue. YAXI TV's entertainment content (trivia, sports updates, curated programming) is pre-screened for suitability in a general business environment.
What happens if my internet goes down?
The YAXI TV player app caches content locally on the device. If your internet connection goes down, the device will continue playing cached content — your screens will not go blank. However, the device cannot receive new schedule updates or transmit proof-of-play records while offline, so extended outages will affect earnings for that period.
For Advertisers
How do I advertise on YAXI TV screens?
Advertisers can reach YAXI TV network inventory through programmatic DSPs that have integrated with Vistar Media or Google Ad Manager, or by contacting our advertising team directly for a managed campaign. Email advertising@yaxitv.com to discuss what's available in your target geography and venue categories.
What are the creative specifications for ads?
Ads run in 16:9 landscape format at 1920×1080 resolution. Images (JPG, PNG, WebP) up to 5 MB. Video (MP4/H.264, MOV) up to 30 seconds and 200 MB. Audio is supported but most venue screens are muted — all key messages must be communicated visually. See the full creative specs page for all requirements.
How does targeting work?
DOOH targeting on YAXI TV is based on venue type (bar, gym, restaurant, retail, auto service, healthcare, etc.), geographic market (metro area or city), and daypart (time of day / day of week). Individual viewer-level targeting is not available — DOOH is an audience-based medium, not a cookie-based one. This means reach and frequency are estimated based on venue traffic patterns rather than tracked to specific individuals.
How is ad delivery verified?
Every ad impression generates a proof-of-play (POP) record — a machine-generated log with screen ID, creative ID, campaign ID, timestamp, and duration. At the end of a campaign, you can download a complete POP report showing every verified impression served. This is not an estimate — it is a machine-generated event log. See our proof-of-play page for details.
What is the minimum campaign budget?
Minimum budgets depend on your target market, venue category mix, and campaign duration. Contact advertising@yaxitv.com for current pricing relevant to your goals. Programmatic buyers accessing inventory through a DSP may have different floor pricing than direct campaigns.
For Screen Operators
Can I use YAXI TV to manage screens across multiple venues?
Yes. YAXI TV is designed for multi-venue management. Operator accounts can manage content across many venues from a single dashboard, with the ability to set network-level content and allow individual venue overrides. Contact us to discuss the right account structure for your network size.
Does YAXI TV offer white-label options for operators?
White-label arrangements are discussed on a case-by-case basis for operators with qualifying network sizes. Contact sales@yaxitv.com to explore what's available for your situation.
How does revenue work for operators managing multiple venues?
Operator accounts can aggregate revenue across managed venues. Revenue share arrangements for operators differ from single-venue arrangements and are governed by a separate operator agreement. Contact us to discuss the structure that applies to your network.
